General Surgery

General surgery is a surgical specialty that focuses on alimentary canal and abdominal contents including the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine, liver, pancreas, gallbladder, appendix and bile ducts, and often the thyroid gland.

It deals with a wide range of surgical problems. Whenever possible, the latest non-invasive and minimally invasive techniques (also called as Laparoscopy) are utilized. For problems that cannot be treated with these methods, traditional open operative methods are used.
